Strength For The Novice. What Is It Like?

Posted On June 7, 2024

Sarah (pictured) is quite typical of the type of person we can really help.

That’s a person who understands the power of strength training but don’t know much about it, where to start! Sometimes people have absolutely no experience of the weights room. (They’ve seen it across a crowded gym – but never ventured in!)

Sarah, for example, is a runner but wanted to get stronger, tone up and live up her fitness regime.

We bring this type of person in and teach them the foundations of what we do. Just the basics. We try not to rush anyone, ever. It’s very important we meet that person at the level they need. **Many people FEAR being punished with excruciating exercise regimes OR be made to look stupid!)

Once they’ve mastered the basics, gained a bit of confidence, then we push that person to be better — always at their pace so not to overwhelm.

Every movement and session we do, has 3-4 regressions or progressions to suit every level. This is why everyone feels successful, in every session.

Sarah’s excelled since joining us (with many others) – which makes us very happy! 💪😁👊
