You might think this is a strange thing to do – for a fitness professional!
Firstly, I love drinking (at the weekends). It’s my time to relax, put my feet up, enjoy my family. So I’m not a food or drink Nazi! We’re not on this earth for long. 🙂
But I know that building a strong social community within our members means:
They all like each other.
They chat and laugh (and exercise) together.
They enjoy their health and fitness experience more.
They turn up to sessions more often.
They get better results.
They miss it when they don’t or can’t turn up.
At Hurley Fitness in Ely, we work INCREDIBLY hard to plan top-notch social events almost every month.
Last Saturday we ran out annual BBQ at my home (HURLFEST) – we had the biggest turn out yet of around 90 people. It was it’s sixth year.
Here’s a short video of the day which will give you a flavour of the epic community of people we’ve been lucky to amass.

People wonder why they can’t stick to exercise when they do it alone, in a crowded, unwelcoming environment. 🙂
It’s a no-brainer, when we think about it.
