We know that “gyms” look the same to general public – I mean, they all have weights, dumbbells, maybe treadmills and battle ropes. All the same right?
WRONG! (Sorry)
The reality is the type of training will be very different (despite the equipment looking the same). And the type of people who join the program may be different too. Let me explain please ……
We are very clear about the type of people we can help and enjoy working with the most. Our IDEAL member is:
Someone who is 40+, has let life take over, perhaps with family and a busy career, who wants to get stronger, more toned, fitter and to feel mentally better.
Quite simple really.
All our messaging, social media, training, planning is designed to help these type of people. Our goal is to help them look better, feel better and to move better.
**(If you are a 19 year-old looking for a six pack before going to Ibiza, we’re probably not your best bet!)**
Julia (pictured) joined our program recently after working with a personal trainer who gave her the training THEY enjoyed – not what she needed (again, in our opinion)! It was a bodybuilding program.
If you’re not familiar with bodybuilding, it involves working one, maybe two, muscle groups in each session to exhaustion, really ripping the muscle to shape it and create a certain look.
It also involves VERY strict nutrition. Training can be up to 6 days a week with one day off, to ensure every muscle across the body is worked.
**Hats off to anyone who follows this. It requires incredible dedication and discipline.** But it begs the question ….. Does it suit, for example, a 40/50/60 year old woman who has been sedentary for several years, focused on family and/or career, who wants just to feel better?
That’s open to debate. My view …..
That person ISN’T a bodybuilder. Their goal isn’t to shape muscle with intense, strict protocols. (It becomes boring after a while).
What they need to do, is to focus on full body movements, full body workouts, 2-3 times per week if they can — to produce the result we promise. And recover and live their life thereafter. Life’s too short to be stuck in the gym 24-7!
So all gyms are NOT the same, all training programs are NOT the same and the people on them are NOT the same!
What’s your view on this? Drop us a reply, we’d love to hear.
Kevin.
